Welcome to the Department of Nursing at Touro College!
The goal of the Nursing programs is to prepare students to become practicing nurses working to improve patient outcomes, quality, and safety. The Nursing curricula provide a strong foundation in general education, biological sciences, and social sciences, as well as nursing science. A Touro College-prepared nurse is educated to function in a variety of structured health care settings and provide direct care to patients with well-defined health care needs.
Facilities for the Nursing programs are conveniently located in Brooklyn. The department has a well-equipped simulation lab and a Nursing Computer Resource Center. Most courses can be taken on site, but at least one must be completed at Touro’s Manhattan Main Campus.
Students participate in clinical experiences during the AAS, BS, and Dual Degree programs, which utilize a variety of private and public acute care hospitals in Brooklyn, Staten Island and Manhattan.
The program is registered by the New York State Education Department. Graduates of the AAS, BS, and Dual Degree programs are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
