Prof. Kardachi earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (OT) degree in 1981 from Lincoln Institute of Health Science in Melbourne, Australia, and a Master of Arts degree in Occupational Therapy in 1997 from New York University. She is a co-founder of Fall Stop...MOVE STRONGTM, a dance- and education-based fall prevention and strengthening program for older adults. She currently conducts program classes in the New York City area.

She has practiced occupational therapy in Australia, Great Britain, and the United States and, prior to joining the faculty of Touro College in January 2001, was Occupational Therapy supervisor of inpatient neurological and orthopedic rehabilitation at New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases
