New Behavioral Health Elective Track
Touro College School of Health Sciences Manhattan Campus Physician Assistant Program proudly announces the addition of a new and innovative Behavioral Health Elective option to its curriculum. Beginning with our pilot program in summer 2014, the School of Health Sciences will be working with the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (HHC) in educating physician assistant students in the field of Behavioral Health. The Behavioral Health Elective Track offers a rigorous, educational experience, preparing PA graduates entering the workforce with enhanced Behavioral Medicine knowledge and skills. This program entails two Behavioral Health seminars (one scheduled for the summer semester and one for the fall semester) and an intensive Behavioral Health clinical experience. These seminars are in addition to the required coursework for the Physician Assistant Program. A letter of completion will be awarded upon completion of the elective path, and this accomplishment will be registered on the graduate’s official transcript. Graduates will be distinguishable to potential employers having advanced education in the field of Behavioral Health.
