Welcome From the Director

The Touro College School of Health Sciences has been educating and training Physician Assistants since 1972. It has a rich history of producing skilled healthcare providers to serve the medical needs of the community. Building on years of experience in PA education, and seeking to expand access to educational opportunities, the Manhattan Campus Physician Assistant Program was established in 1999 as a bachelor's level training program with a unique, non-traditional format. Beginning in Fall 2008, the Manhattan Campus PA Program transitioned from a bachelor's program to a dual-degree, graduate program culminating in a BS in Health Sciences and MS in Physician Assistant Studies, phasing out the original program. I invite you to explore our website and learn more about Touro College and our excellent program.

The BS/MS PA Program supports the Touro College institutional mission to provide educational and professional opportunities, to foster access to underserved populations, and to contribute to the building of a better society for all through these educational opportunities. In addition, the BS/MS PA Program supports the institutional mission and goals of promoting academic and scholarly achievement, while fostering the ethical and humanistic values of the Judaic tradition. I encourage you to visit our campus, tour the facilities, and meet with faculty and admissions personnel. If you do, I think you will be convinced that Touro is the place for you to start your career in medicine. Our graduates are compassionate and highly competent medical practitioners who work collaboratively with members of the health care team, who value critical inquiry and life-long learning, and who meet the demands of an ever-changing health care environment.

I wish you every success in your career pursuits and thank you for considering the Touro College Physician Assistant Program as the vehicle for your professional preparation.
