DPT 768: Treatment of Cervical / Thoracic Dysfunction

Course Description An advanced manual therapy course where students learn advanced musculoskeletal examination skills of the cervical spine, thoracic spine and costal cage, based upon a thorough review of relevant anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology. Treatment options include myofascial techniques, joint mobilization, muscle energy, therapeutic exercises, and home program instruction. Students learn to manage complex patients seen in the clinic who present with significant impairment and functional limitation in the upper quarter and thoracic cage, including those patients who present with headache of cervical origin. An equal amount of time is spent in lecture and supervised lab sessions.
