Touro College offers the Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Communications as well as the Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Our graduate program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). As an accredited program, we abide by all ASHA standards. Our graduates meet the academic and clinical requirements for ASHA certification in Speech-Language Pathology, and are qualified to apply for state licensure. We have also been approved by the New York State Education Department to recommend students for the Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities Certificate (TSSLD).
Touro College's Master's degree program in Speech-Language Pathology provides a broad-based and comprehensive education in the theoretical and clinical aspects of the field. Our mission is to provide you with a quality education, which incorporates strong emphasis on knowledge, skills, professionalism, and ethical behavior. Under the direction of a devoted and experience faculty, students gain the knowledge and skills needed to assess and treat patients with diverse needs. They are also prepared to manage the record keeping and forms of reporting from the various types of institutions in which they will be employed. It is our aim to give you an outstanding education in a caring, professional environment.
We are proud of our graduates, who are highly sought after for employment. Our student employment rate for the past year was 99%. We are equally proud of our students' success on the National Speech Praxis Examination; our pass rates in recent years have been significantly above the national average of 80%. These accomplishments have given our program a reputation for excellence.
We hope you will choose to join us and enter this rewarding field.
