Dr. Gisele Oliveira is an assistant professor and director of research in the Master's Program in Speech-Language Pathology. She received her BA, Master's and PhD in Human Communication Disorders from the Federal University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and did postdoctoral work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research experience and publication record are wide-ranging and span the clinical, bio behavioral and basic biologic areas. Dr. Oliveira has published extensively in peer- reviewed journals, with over 40 papers, 2 books and 9 book chapters. She has presented over a 100 papers with more than 30 of them being invited presentations in North and South America, Europe and Asia at important conferences in the field such as the Voice Foundation Annual Symposium, the World Voice Congress, and the IALP International Congress. Professor Oliveira is a scientific journal reviewer for the preeminent indexed scientific journal for voice, The Journal of Voice. She has considerable teaching experience with particular expertise in Voice, Voice Disorders, Voice Development over the Lifespan, Voice Evaluation and Treatment, Professional Voice Users, and Research Methodology. She had a private practice in Brazil for over 12 years. Professor Oliveira is a member of ASHA, IALP (International Association of Logopedics and Phoniatrics) and SBFa (Brazilian Association of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology). She is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
