Professor Hindy Lubinsky
Position: Department Chair/Program Director, Faculty, Associate Professor

Professor Lubinsky is the director and chairperson for the Graduate Program in Speech-Language Pathology. She received her B.S. and M.S. from Brooklyn College. She has more than 30 years of experience in the field of speech-language pathology, has headed programs in various group homes, schools and pre-schools, founded the undergraduate program in Speech and Communications at Touro College and served as its director for 11 years, and maintains a private practice. Professor Lubinsky is the founder of the graduate program and clinic, and is responsible for all aspects of the administration of the program; she is also active as an advisor and counselor. Professor Lubinsky is bilingually certified (Hebrew and Yiddish). She holds ASHA certification, New York State licensure and certification as a Teacher of Speech & Hearing Handicapped (TSSH). Her primary area of research interest and clinical expertise is in language acquisition of the bilingual child. Other areas include articulation and phonology, and stuttering. Professor Lubinsky is on the board of Speech Pathology.Com, has reviewed various articles and CEU presentations for them, and is an "Ask the Expert" consultant for them. She is a member of the advisory board of the Jewish Stuttering Association. Professor Lubinsky has presented at ASHA, CAPSCD, and NYSSLHA. She is currently a consultant for a group doing research and work on a grant for a Hebrew and Yiddish Language Test that is in its final stages of being tested. She is a member of ASHA, NYYSHLA, and Council of Programs in Communication and Science Disorders (CAPCSD).
